One of my very favorite holiday traditions, decorating a gingerbread house. This year it is a No Sew Felt Gingerbread House to add to my collection of gingerbread decor in the dining room. Such an easy project, using a couple of craft cuts. Light or dark gingerbread fans we have you covered with

- Kunin© Premium™ Felt Craft Cuts 12” by 18”– 2 Cashmere Tan, 1 White
- Canvas
- Beacon Adhesive
- Dimensional Fabric Paint – White
- Fine Glitter
- Scissors plus Scallop or Pinking Shears
- Marker, Pencil, Ruler
STEP 1
As shown in photo, measure 5 1/2″ down from top of craft cut. Draw line. across. Along top of felt measure in 2″ from each end. Draw a line on the diagonal on both ends to form a roof line. Cut along these lines.
STEP 2
Print out pattern for Gingerbread House. Cut out pieces. Cut out windows and heart from white. Cut door and smaller heart from the second piece of Cashmere Tan. Use pinking or scallop scissors to cut a second decorative layer 1/4″ larger for each piece.
STEP 3
Cut thin strips of Cashmere tan to make window panes. Glue in place. Glue backs on door and windows. Add center heart.
STEP 4
Use dimensional paint to add decorative details to door.
STEP 5
Begin at roof line with decorative dimensional paint. Check out other gingerbread houses for inspiration too or just get creative. This is the fun part of personalizing your own house!
STEP 6
Continue decorating the house with dimensional paint. Use a ruler as a guide is very helpful.
STEP 7
Placing the windows in position and then use the decorative paint to frame them.
STEP 8
For the trees I cut 6″ x 5″ triangles, but you can vary the size depending on your canvas size. You can also add trunks if you want full trees. Make two layers as in windows. Add decorative paint details.
STEP 9
Using photo as guide adhere all details to your No Sew Felt Gingerbread House. Add a miniature wreath or cut one with green felt scraps. If you want to add fine glitter, it adheres to felt quite nicely. I used a light mist of hair spray and then sprinkled it on. I live in a Winter Wonderland so I am all about a snowy look.
